For the last thirty years, Tawalla Simmons has dedicated her career to serving others through CRA-inspired programs. Today, she is the Board Chair and former President of Inspiring You to Greatness, a 501(c)3 Non-profit Community Development Corporation dedicated to educating low-to-moderate income clients about credit, mortgage, and money literacy as well as assisting in workforce development and college career readiness through the bootstrap construction of affordable homes using alternative building systems.
As a previous property manager, mortgage banker, as well as compliance monitor; Tawalla saw first hand the gap in education surrounding credit, job readiness, and housing stability. To better serve the community, Tawalla worked with her banking partners to strategize in creating platforms of CRA-eligible programs that provide the necessary tools to both increase self-sufficiency, workforce development, and more.
